From ambition to visible change

PRIDE IN PLACE

The Government’s Pride in Place programme is a once-in-a-generation opportunity.

284 neighbourhoods are receiving up to £20 million each to shape their future — with communities, through Neighbourhood Boards, setting priorities and directing investment.

The ambition is clear:
to create stronger neighbourhoods, thriving local economies and high streets, and places where people feel ownership and pride.

But delivery is complex.

Boards are being asked to:

  • Build trust across communities and partners

  • Translate community voice into investable plans

  • Make high-quality decisions at pace

  • Deliver visible change in challenging environments

Across the country, we are seeing a consistent challenge emerge:

Many of these neighbourhoods have lived through years of decline and repeated programmes that have not delivered meaningful, lasting change.

The task now is different.

It is about working alongside communities to:

  • Rebuild confidence and raise ambition

  • Help people understand what is possible

  • Set a genuinely ambitious, long-term vision

  • And develop the systems, leadership and capability needed to deliver — and to hold delivery to account

360 Degree Society supports places to do this — helping Boards move from planning to delivery, and from delivery to long-term impact

HOW WE CAN HELP

As Pride in Place Boards move into delivery, we act as both a  delivery partner and critical friend — supporting leadership, strengthening capability and helping places move at pace while building long-term local ownership.

Governance and Board effectiveness

We help Boards establish the clarity, culture and confidence needed to operate effectively.

  • Board mobilisation and development

  • Clear roles, mandates and ways of working

  • High trust, high challenge decision-making

  • Ongoing support to Chairs and leadership teams

Neighbourhood vision and planning

We translate community priorities into clear, deliverable plans.

  • 10-year vision development

  • Strategic case for change

  • 4-year investment plans

  • Prioritisation and intervention design

Health and place integration

We help align Pride in Place with wider system change.

  • Connecting regeneration with neighbourhood health and prevention

  • Designing integrated, place-based models

  • Linking health, housing, economy and community capability

This reflects a core reality:
Long-term outcomes are shaped by place, relationships and opportunity — not services alone.

Community engagement and co-design

We design engagement that builds trust and leads to action.

  • Deep neighbourhood immersion and insight

  • Inclusive, creative and deliberative engagement

  • Connecting lived experience directly to decisions

  • Building long-term community capability

From insight to delivery

We specialise in bridging the gap between engagement and implementation.

  • Translating priorities into investable interventions

  • Supporting early wins and momentum

  • Creating delivery frameworks and structures

  • Hands-on support as delivery begins

Long-term sustainability and legacy

We support the transition from programme to long-term delivery.

  • Governance and delivery vehicle design (CIC, CIO, partnerships)

  • Building local leadership and capability

  • Embedding sustainable, community-led models

HOW WE WORK

Our work is grounded in over 40 years of practical experience and delivered through our:

Inspire – Connect – Create – Do methodology

  • Inspire – insight, examples and ambition

  • Connect – building relationships across systems and communities

  • Create – co-designing plans and solutions

  • Do – supporting delivery, learning and scaling

This is a learning-by-doing approach, focused on real-world delivery — not just strategy.
